Rules of Participation

ARTICLE 1
The Running Club of Trikala organizes the Half Marathon Road Kalampaka-Trikala, in memory of the runner Thanasis Stamopoulos ,as well as the 5000m Road Race  and 1000m Children Race in Trikala. The event is held under the auspices of the Thessaly Regional  Unit of Trikala.

ARTICLE 2
All three races will take place in accordance with the regulations set by the Athletics Federation SEGAS.

ARTICLE 3
The race is open to all runners over 18 years old. Runners under  the age of 16 in the Half Marathon and under 14 years in the 5000m Race, can participate with a confirmation from their guardian and their participation is free for the simple registration package. The ranking of runners is done by age groups according to the regulations of the Athletics Federation SEGAS. Runners participate in the races at their own risk.

ARTICLE 4
Each entry is considered as non-cancellable and involves full acceptance of the regulations. Athletes who can not take part in the race may transfer their registration to another runner at  least a week before the race.

ARTICLE 5
Each athlete can receive his/her number with the integrated timing chip, the T-Shirt and other souvenirs of the race,on the  Saturday –day before the race, from 10:00 to 19:00, in the main square of the city of Trikala, where there is also the exhibition of the race. The numbers can also be received on the day of the race at the starting area, in the central square of Kalampaka, at least one hour before the beginning  of the match. In both cases it is necessary to present the registration confirmation and an ID.

ARTICLE 6
Refueling and hydration stations for the Half Marathon can be found at 5km, 10km, 15km, 18km and at the finish line, while at the 5000m Race there is one at 3.5km. The Half Marathon runners must complete their race within 3 hours, while those of the 5000m Road Race within one hour. After the passing of the "race car stop" in the Half Marathon, the participants must respect the traffic of vehicles and continue the race at their own risk.

ARTICLE 7
The Races’safety are under the control of the Department of the Greek Traffic Police and the Municipal police of Trikala. Medical services are provided by the Greek Red Cross and the doctor of the race, and the first medical service stop for the Half Marathon is at the 5th km. The next medical stations are at the 10th km, 15th km., 18th km and at the finish line. In the race,the  participants take part at their own risk, and any competitor may be prevented from continuing the race if necessary, by the people responsible there.

ARTICLE 8
The ChampionChip system will be used for timing the competitions. Each participant is given the number of participation with an integrated timing chip (Bib) when they receive the necessary for the participation in the race. For the control of the participants there will be available control stations at the beginning of the Half Marathon, at the 10th km and at the finish line, and for the race of 6 km at the beginning and at the finish. Runners who will not follow the route and the provided checkpoints will be canceled.

ARTICLE 9
Property damage: the organizer declines all liability for destruction, theft, loss, etc. of the personal property of the participants. The participants will not have the right to take action against the organizer for any damage that may be caused to their equipment or their vehicle.

ARTICLE 10
Participants clearly and exclusively grant the organizer the irrevocable right to use their name, their data, their pictures or any document of the Race for future use or use in court cases, regulatory authorities, their advertising or for statistical data.

ARTICLE 11
Bicycles or photographing and filming the race will be possible only after the approval of the organizational race committee and after issuing  a special certificate.

ARTICLE 12
All participants are aware of and accept all the articles of the regulations when they register for  the race. Also participants give their word not to accelerate at the start and to cover the full distance of the race before reaching the finish line.
